It may be coming to the end of the holiday season but for those of you still yet to experience your imminent vacation abroad, or who travel for business, you may be wondering if you can travel with your favoured CBD products.
As you may know, many users take CBD for anxiety issues and so it could provide an important aid for those who are anxious travellers/flyers.
At the time of writing in most countries around the World or at least those most popular to be a holiday destination, CBD is legal as it is commonly classed as a dietary supplement rather than a medicine. However, it is important to do your own research before you pack your bags for your holidays and include those CBD items. Read on as we go through country by country...
Before we start, it's important that you also do your own research including checking with the airline company you are flying with and also the rules of CBD in the country you will be staying in.
SPAIN
Can I bring my own CBD products?
One of the most popular destinations in Europe for holidaymakers is Spain. The good news is that CBD is currently legal in the country as it contains no psychoactive ingredients (THC).
Can I buy CBD in the country?
Yes. CBD is sold in Spain but it is typically in 'grow shops' or natural/herbal product stores depending on location. CBD oil in Spain is usually grown organically by local Farmers as the laws in Spain for growing the plant are more lenient than most other European countries. However, many have reported that the CBD products are weaker than trusted brands and bringing your own CBD items from a supplier/retailer you trust would be most advisable.
FRANCE

Yes, CBD products containing 0.2% THC or less are allowed, like most other EU countries.
Can I buy CBD in the country?
Yes, CBD stores in France (especially Paris) have risen in popularity in 2018 and the most popular type of product is sold as an e-liquid (vape juice) form. However, despite reports of the rise in popularity, there have also been reports as recently as June to say that regulations are being defined that could prohibit a majority of CBD products (mainly e-liquids) across the country. If you are visiting it is probably best to bring your own.
PORTUGAL

In 2018, Italy has seen a "green rush" in hemp plants/buds sold in speciality stores (CBD Buds/Flowers) which are sold as 'not for human consumption' but rather 'collector's items'. However, we would advise you to bring your own CBD products (Vape/Oils/Lotions/Capsules) for your own reassurance in product quality.
GREECE
Can I bring my own CBD products?
Yes, CBD products containing 0.2% THC or less are allowed, like most other EU countries.

Yes, CBD products containing 0.2% THC or less are allowed, like most other EU countries.

Industrial hemp is grown throughout the country and whilst the purchase of hemp is legal we do not know if CBD products are widely available. Best to bring your own just in case!
Other European countries with similar situations on CBD legality to the above are; Austria, Hungary, Cyprus, Romania, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Ireland.
The following European countries differ...
Germany, Denmark, Finland and Malta - many sources state CBD is only issued by a doctor/pharmacist in these countries and we advise that you do further research before entering these countries with CBD items.
SLOVAKIA
CBD is illegal in Slovakia as it comes under the "Group 2" of the psychoactive narcotic list under the Slovakian law. We advise that you do not enter the country with CBD products.
REST OF THE WORLD...
Florida (and the USA)
The sunshine state is popular for British holiday makers and the good news is, CBD is legal like most other American states aslong as it contains less than 0.3% THC. However, to buy it in Florida you will need a state medical card so best to bring your own CBD.
THAILAND
There is not a clear definition in Thai law between Cannabis (THC) and CBD, so it is technically an illegal narcotic. You can apply for a permit for entering the country with medications although it is unlikely it will be accepted. Some travelers on various forums have been able to travel to Thailand with small quantities of CBD without hassle and usually more discreet products (like CBD Gummies) but we would not recommend the risk.
SINGAPORE
The law is very similar to that of Thailand and surrounding countries although there are CBD hemp oils available to purchase in Singapore, quality control may be a major issue.
AUSTRALIA
Technically, CBD is legal because it does not contain the psychoactive compound THC but you may have to show proof of a medical prescription to enter the country with CBD products. We advise you do further research on this. There's a grey area surrounding the legality of medicinal cannabis in Australia, although it is possible to purchase, it will be largely expensive.
